Frequently Asked Questions

About Us

  • Reroute is a waste management and recycling business based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We offer scheduled pickups for unwanted goods, waste, and recyclables to help divert waste from landfills and support local charities and organizations

  • Simply schedule a pickup for your unwanted items. Our team will come to your location on the scheduled day to collect the items and ensure they are properly recycled, donated or disposed of. Just be sure to give us instructions on where these items are set out.

  • If you follow Do More Good on Instagram, you know that it is Launne’s mission to reduce waste as much as possible. We can assure you that we are finding the best available programs to reroute your waste from the landfill. We have our ear to the ground for new programs for recycling, proper disposal and where to take your donations to help people in need. If you’d like to know where something is specifically being taken, just ask!

  • We agree! Recycling is not the be all and end all. It is not the solution to get us out of the plastic waste crisis. We need to reduce what we buy, and once we buy it- dispose of it in the best way possible for the planet. We will help you do this.

  • We give our customers the option to donate their beverage recycling refund to charities or organizations of their choice and we send donations directly to those in need. We will also have different fundraising initiatives throughout the year to try and give back as much as we can.

  • If you have any additional questions or need assistance, please contact us at hello@reroutesk.ca. Our team is happy to help!

  • Our prices are listed on our website for residents of Saskatoon. If you live outside of Saskatoon, please use the contact form to get in touch with us about our fees and services.

Services

  • Items accepted for each service can be viewed under the Accepted Items page.

  • To sign up for this package you must have (or sign up for) a Sarcan Drop & Go account. The only information you need to provide us is the email or phone number associated with the account. We will pick up your recycling from your home, take it to Sarcan and drop it off under your account. The refund will go directly to you by whatever means you set up in your account (ex. Cheque, Etransfer, Paypal).

  • If you normally throw your beverage recycling in your blue bin, throw it in your Recycler bag instead! Instead of giving your money to the city, you can easily donate it to one of our charities/organizations of the month. It’s an easy way to give back and every little bit counts!

  • You can choose to donate your refund to one of three charity or organizations of the month. This might be a local hockey team or a charity making big changes in our community. If you’d like to nominate a organization to benefit from this initiative in the future, pleae let us know!

Items we collect

  • The items will be sorted and taken to be properly disposed of or recycled. If we are picking up items to be donated through ‘The Giver’ package, these donations will be sent to local charities and organizations that are in need of these items. We are committed to diverting as much waste as possible from landfills.

  • While we strive to accept as many items as possible, there are some items we are unable to accept due to safety or environmental concerns. Please refer to our Accepted Items page for a list of items we do not accept.

  • We accept a wide range of items, including clothing, electronics, small appliances, books, household goods, hygiene items (even if opened), food (sealed, not expired) and more. Please visit our Accepted Items page for a complete list of accepted items. We are currently not accepting furniture, large appliances and large electronics at this time.

  • Yes! We are supporting food banks and fridge programs in our city. It will have to be sealed, not expired and be able to sit out all day waiting for a pickup (will not spoil in the heat). Do you have extra garden veggies that you don’t know what to do with? This is the program for you! We will also take formula and pet food that has been opened. If you have something specific you’d like to donate, let us know.

  • Accepted items will likely change as recycling and disposal programs do. If there isn’t a place to take items, they will be removed from our programs. Conversely though, things will always be added, and we are hoping to have recycling blitz’s at different times of the year! If we update any of our programs, it will be updated on our website and customers on our email list will be notified.

  • The Recycler is for items that are hard to recycle. Yes, the above items can go in the blue bin, but they have specific instructions. Small papers need to be in their own clear separate bag, foil needs to be in a ball larger than a deck of cards and if household glass is broken in the blue bin, it goes to the landfill. These are all things you can put in your blue bin, but they are hard to do or aren’t the best option. Let us take them for you!

Pickups

  • For the most part, no! We want this to be as easy and convenient as possible! For the Recycler, we want you to be able to throw everything into one bag and/or box. There are a few items that should be packaged separately for hygienic reasons, very small items (to save us sorting time) or beverage containers (might be sticky!) Within the Refunder package, glass should be packaged separately as it is free! You can check each package for specific instructions.

  • No, you do not need to be present for the pickup. Simply let us know where you will be placing your items for pickup, and our team will collect them on the scheduled pickup day.

  • You need to set your items out by 8 am on the day of pickup.

  • You can cancel a pickup at any time up to 24 hours before pickup (8 am the day before pickup).

  • Please feel free to reach out at hello@reroutesk.ca and we will see if we can make something work!

  • Yes! We would love to pick up your waste. Please ensure you have a place to set your items for the day where we can grab them(ex. a boot room, behind a tree). If you aren’t able to leave something set out during the day, please reach out to us at hello@reroutesk.ca and we will find try to find an alternative solution.

  • Yes! You have the choice to opt into text and email communications when creating your account. This will remind you before your pickups and keep you up to date on accepted items.

  • There will be a small fee if you forget to set out your items for pickup.

  • When booking your items for pickup, you will have options to include extra bags/boxes for a fee. But, if on the day of pickup you find extra things that we will accept, no big deal! We will just charge the credit card on file for the extra bags/boxes that has been left out.

  • We only book days for pickup between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, but not specific times. This is because we could get chatting with people, may need to make a dog park stop or traffic could be bad- we wouldn’t want to be late for a pickup. We will guarantee that the day you set it out, it will be picked up.
